Huddlestons Take Championship Division at 7th Oregon Four-Ball Championship
Champions for men’s, women’s and senior men’s divisions were crowned at the 7th Oregon Four-Ball Championship played Aug. 20-23 at Florence Golf Links in Florence, Ore.

The duo of Dane and Tanner Huddleston won the men’s Open Championship division for golfers with Handicap Indexes of 10.0 or less. Ginny Burkey and Leilani Norman won the women’s Championship bracket, while Billy Anderson and Ron Hop took home a title in the men’s Senior Championship group.
Huddleston-Huddleston won three times on their way to Tuesday’s title match against Donny Hiebing and Cody Stoffel – which they won 1up with birdie on the final hole.
In that final match, the eventual champs took a 2up lead after four holes, but Hiebing-Stoffell battled back to tie the match and make the turn all square. A birdie on No. 11 allowed the Huddleston bros. to retake the lead, but Hiebing-Stoffel birdied No. 15 to even the match.
It was Tanner who recorded the birdie for the win, their first in the seven-year history of the competition.
Huddleston and Huddleston finished tied for fourth in the opening day’s stroke play qualifying round, four strokes behind medalists Harrison Moir and Zach Foushee.
On the women’s side, Norman-Burkey cruised to a 5&4 victory over Marcia Fisher and Chris Oviatt. The winning tandem led 4up at the turn and won six of the 13 holes played in that title bout.
Oviatt-Fisher earned the top seed for the match play bracket after posting 1-over par in Saturday’s 18-hole stroke play qualifying.
The senior champions pairing of Anderson-Hop won three matches en route to their title. After finishing sixth in the stroke play qualifying, they upended Michael Freeborg and Shane Johnston (1up), Greg Chiannello and Michael Senatra (3&2) before Tuesday’s 2up win over Doug Banks and Russell Humphrey in the title match.
Don Bidinger and Cris Bae shot 6-under par to take medalist honors in the senior men’s division during stroke play qualifying.
The 2022 OGA Championships schedule resumes Sept. 6-9 with the 38th playing of the Oregon Senior Amateur Championship at Aspen Lakes Golf Club in Sisters, Ore.
